I've just started searching the Web for "lost pet" sites after our outdoor/indoor cat disappeared 2 days ago. Glad to have found this page; we need one like this in our area. We haven't given up on finding KitKat, but the waiting takes a lot out of you...

My family always seems to attract the stray cats in the neighborhood and wants to adopt them. My concern is that we could be taking them away from a loving owner that misses their beloved cat. I hope that more people post here regularly so that the reuniting can continue.

We are desperately searching for my Dad's dog, Ginger. She is old and confused and ran away from my Dad on 06-01-99 @ 9:00am. She is mostly black that is greying some brown and white markings. Her teeth are in bad shape. She is afraid of people, but actually very gentle and loving.

We are looking for a Yellow Labador, short hair. She is very friendly loves children. She got out of our gate when we were not home, she has been gone since Dec.20th.1998. She might have been seen in the Pelham/Vanborn area. If anyone has any information please give us a call 313-791-8761. We really miss her!

I think this is a fantastic site. I wish I had known about it last fall when that beautiful little yellow lab showed up in my yard with no collar or tags. I really searched the county; police, vets and animal rescue, even schools. All to no avail. The people for "Dave" were here. I met many other dog rescuers and even rescued another dog in the process of searching for this baby's owners. I got no response. The little muffin weighed 68lbs and my vet aged him at 18-24mos. Now he's 90lbs, 2yrs old, a great hugger, and a very lovable pooch. Still here. I feel so bad that I couldn't find the owner. However, there is that possibility that he ran away from a not-so-good owner. We just don't know. He didn't look abused. However, judging from the fleas and worms he had acquired, he'd been on the lam awhile. He's o.k. now as he's in a loving home.

Found, approx 1 yr old, Retriever. Red/Bronze in color. Found on May14th. In Dbn Hgts Area. Call Dbn Hgts Police for more info. My daughter lost a blonde lab with a pink collar and a black lab with a purple collar while in the process of moving to a new home on 4/1/99. The black lab is still shaved from her recent spaying. I have a Australian Cattle dog mix that is missing. She disappeared on Feb 5 1999. She is really hard to describe she is white and grey speckled. She has some black spots. She has a black tail with a white tip. Her paws are brown speckled . She also has some othe distinguishing marks.Please E-Mail if you have seen her.We really love and miss this dog.I have three children who are devestated because their dog is missing. With all the snow we received, our family dog leaped our fence of our fenced in yard. Me and my wife searched intensively from dawn to dusk but never found our dog. We were crushed. Now I realize dogs do know their way back home after finding our dog returned a day later. I also said a prayer to bring him back!

This is truly a wonderful site. I have a Flat-Coated Retriever named Kodiak (Kodi for short), and we are currently trying to find a home for his kennel-mate, Cherokee. Cherokee was about to be put to sleep, but we have rescued him. He has some behavior problems, but we are trying to see training for these conditions. He's housebroken and is a Shephard-Husky mix. He ways 38 lbs., and is a good dog overall. We are unable to keep two dogs in our apartment, but took Cherokee in because we couldn't see having him put to sleep because of improper training on the part of the former owners.
